Shizukaen

Sourced in Shizuoka

Iwata, in western Shizuoka Prefecture, is renowned for tea cultivation. The Iwatahara Plateau’s flat terrain, excellent drainage, and fertile red-yellow loam soil create ideal conditions for growing flavorful tea. Blessed with abundant sunlight and a mild climate, the region produces deep-steamed green tea with a vivid color, smooth taste, and rich aroma—qualities that reflect both the land’s natural gifts and the careful cultivation of local farmers.

Traceability

With in-house processing and strict traceability systems, Shizukaen ensures both safety and quality. Certified under JGAP, they continue to deliver deep-steamed teas that embody the unique character of Iwatahara—pure, aromatic, and deeply satisfying.

Commitment to Quality

To ensure consistent quality, Shizukaen works closely with contracted farmers under a unified fertilizer plan. Using organic-based fertilizers such as fish meal and rapeseed cake, they carefully design application timing and frequency to nurture healthy, fertile soil. Regular inspections of the tea fields allow them to monitor growth conditions and minimize pesticide use, reflecting a strong commitment to safety.

Single-Origin Craftsmanship

All teas are grown exclusively on the Iwatahara Plateau, then processed and packaged in Shizukaen’s own factory, ensuring full control from cultivation to final product. Their philosophy is to never blend leaves from other regions, preserving the natural character of Iwatahara. This dedication to single-origin production delivers pure, authentic tea—100% from the plateau and cultivated by trusted partner farms.
