Gyokuro "Jōshū"

Jōshū is an ultra-premium gyokuro, meticulously cultivated using traditional shading techniques to enhance its deep umami and refined sweetness. The tea plants are covered for an extended period before harvest, allowing the young leaves to develop a silky-smooth texture, rich flavor, and complex aroma.

This exceptional gyokuro is distinguished by its signature ooika—a unique, savory fragrance developed through the shading process—and a deep, matured umami that lingers elegantly with every sip.

What is Gyokuro?

Gyokuro (玉露) is one of Japan’s most luxurious and prestigious green teas. Unlike sencha, which grows under full sunlight, gyokuro is shaded for 20 to 30 days before harvest. This process enhances the levels of theanine (an amino acid responsible for umami) while reducing bitterness, resulting in a smooth, rich, and sweet flavor profile.

Indulge in the exquisite richness of Jōshū, a masterpiece of Japanese tea craftsmanship, where deep umami and an elegant fragrance come together for the ultimate tea experience.
