Yame Gyokuro Shin – 100g

Gyokuro, synonymous with Japan's finest tea, is celebrated for its vibrant green hue, rich umami, and smooth, deep flavor. The tea is carefully cultivated in the misty mountains of Yame, Fukuoka, where the soil, water, and air provide the perfect environment for growing exceptional tea. Using traditional methods passed down through generations, each leaf is lovingly nurtured to perfection.

Distinctive to gyokuro, the leaves are shaded for three weeks before harvest, blocking out 85% of sunlight to reduce bitterness and enhance sweetness. The result is a luxurious tea with an intensely sweet and savory profile.

This Yame Gyokuro Shin is crafted with care by experienced tea artisans. The shading process develops its rich umami, while the delicate leaves, medium-steamed to preserve their essence, deliver a polished and elegant taste.

Gyokuro leaves are often aged for 4-6 months in a controlled environment to deepen umami and mellow any bitterness, offering a refined and balanced tea experience. However, this tea is also available fresh for those who wish to taste the vibrancy of the new leaf or enjoy aging it themselves.
