Gyokuro "Suiteki"

Suiteki is a top-grade gyokuro, meticulously cultivated using traditional shading techniques to enhance its rich umami and smooth sweetness. By covering the tea plants for an extended period before harvest, direct sunlight is blocked, allowing the leaves to develop an abundance of amino acids, which contribute to their deep, mellow flavor.

This exceptional gyokuro is distinguished by its signature ooika—a unique, savory aroma created through the shading process—and a deeply matured umami that lingers with every sip.

What is Gyokuro?

Gyokuro (玉露) is considered one of Japan’s most luxurious and refined green teas. Unlike sencha, which is grown under full sunlight, gyokuro is shaded for about 20 to 30 days before harvesting. This method boosts the levels of theanine (an amino acid responsible for umami) while reducing bitterness, creating a smooth, sweet, and full-bodied taste experience.

Indulge in the exquisite richness of Suiteki, where deep umami and an elegant aroma come together to offer a truly premium Japanese tea experience.
