About Tokoname Ware: Tokoname ware boasts a history spanning over 1,000 years since the late Heian period and is recognized as one of Japan’s Six Ancient Kilns. Alongside traditional teapots and everyday tableware, the Tokoname region is known for producing a wide array of ceramic goods, such as pipes, tiles, and sanitary fixtures. On June 11, 1976, Tokoname ware was officially designated as a Traditional Craft Product under the “Law for the Promotion of Traditional Craft Industries.”
