Matsu no Shiro (Ceremonial Matcha)

An entry-level ceremonial matcha blend from Kanbayashi Shunsho, a renowned Uji tea producer.

Prepared for traditional tea ceremonies, Matsu no Shiro offers a delicate and mellow matcha flavour, free from astringency. Its fragrant aroma and vibrant green colour make it an excellent choice. While its subtle flavour may not stand out in lattes, it provides a beautiful green hue.

This matcha is ideal for beginners, as it is forgiving with various water temperatures and preparation ratios.

This product is available in either a can or a box packaging. The packaging type will be selected at random and cannot be chosen at the time of purchase. Thank you for your understanding.

Kanbayashi Shunsho

Founded by Kanbayashi Shunsho during the Eiroku period, Kanbayashi Shunsho Honten has a rich 450-year history as a prestigious tea house in Uji. Since the late 14th century, when the Ashikaga Shogunate helped elevate the reputation of Uji tea, the Kanbayashi family has been producing Uji tea. Now in its 14th generation, the family continues to uphold tradition while embracing innovation under the leadership of Kanbayashi Shunsho XIV, preserving the legacy of Uji tea and contributing to the evolution of tea culture in Japan.

*Due to the recent surge in demand for matcha, we are experiencing a shortage of cans required for packaging, making it difficult to continue sales as usual. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, but for new orders, we will be providing boxes as a substitute for cans. Thank you for your understanding.
