Yoshi no Mori (Ceremonial Matcha)
A distinguished ceremonial-grade matcha favored by Omotesenke's 15th grand tea master, Fushin'an's Mushanokoji-sōshō (Myōsai Sōshō).
Yoshi no Mori is a premium koicha (thick tea) blend that embodies elegance and depth, crafted for use in formal tea ceremonies. Its rich umami, velvety texture, and refined aroma represent the essence of high-quality Uji matcha. The tea’s deep green hue and lasting sweetness make it a preferred choice for experienced practitioners and guests alike.
This matcha is best enjoyed as koicha, where its smooth, full-bodied flavor and low bitterness truly shine. It is not recommended for culinary use due to its refined character and high-grade formulation.
Kanbayashi Shunsho
Founded by Kanbayashi Shunsho during the Eiroku period, Kanbayashi Shunsho Honten has a rich 450-year history as a prestigious tea house in Uji. Since the late 14th century, when the Ashikaga Shogunate helped elevate the reputation of Uji tea, the Kanbayashi family has been producing Uji tea. Now in its 14th generation, the family continues to uphold tradition while embracing innovation under the leadership of Kanbayashi Shunsho XIV, preserving the legacy of Uji tea and contributing to the evolution of tea culture in Japan.
