The name "Houki" ("宝亀") carries a profound and auspicious meaning, symbolising a prayer for a long life blessed with wealth. The character "宝" ("hou") represents something precious and treasured, while "亀" ("ki") refers to the turtle, an ancient symbol of longevity. In Japanese culture, it is said that while a crane signifies 1,000 years, a turtle represents 10,000, making "Houki" a matcha that embodies enduring prosperity and long-lasting enjoyment.
