About Ishida Chaya

Established in 1946, Ishida Chaya traces its roots to Ishida Shohei, the founder who began his tea business under the name Ishida Shohei Shoten. Initially, he cycled around the local Morimachi area, working as a tea broker in a region renowned as a historic tea-producing area in Shizuoka, with its fame extending nationwide.

In 1973, after completing rigorous training in tea craftsmanship, the second-generation owner, Masanobu Ishida, took over the family business, gradually expanding its scale. By 1991, Ishida Chaten Co., Ltd. was officially established. In 1998, a new factory was built alongside the opening of the retail shop "Ishida Chaya," with the aim of sharing the exceptional taste of Ishida’s tea with even more people.
